Our first reading will feature Self Help Me, a new play by Catherine Weingarten. Cathy is a hot mess so she decides to hire an instagram life coach. But when her life coach, Jessa's advice starts feeling weird and vaguely flirtatious, who really is more qualified to coach who? This satirical play about #mentalhealthculture explores the shifting power dynamics between two women struggling hard to feel heard, seen and comfortable in their own skin. Attendance is free but requires a two drink minimum, as courtesy to the Montclair Brewery. For this performance, we will also be collecting donations for local Hurricane Ida relief efforts in Montclair. Space is limited, and available by RSVP to leavenotracetheatre@gmail.com or via Eventbrite. Although a free event, donations are appreciated. The event will be held in the Beer Garden @ Montclair Brewery, 101 Walnut St, Montclair, accessible by NJ Transit Train. Accompanied by discussion, plays are read by the actors with the script in hand with very limited staging.</image:caption>
